Broncos schedule 2018: Denver’s challenges start in own division

The Broncos’ 2018 schedule was going to be tough enough given the competition in their own division. But a handful of regular-season games from matchups with the AFC North and NFC West provide even more challenges for Denver this season.

Bottom line: Even if Case Keenum starts at quarterback and plays well for Denver in 2018, its schedule, combined with the talent in its own division, makes a playoff push doubtful. Before they even think about where they stand in the AFC with contenders like the Texans and Steelers on their schedule, the Broncos need to take care of their standing in the AFC West. Those six games will define Denver’s season. Record prediction: 7-9

Terrell Owens had enough problems with enough coaches during his time in the NFL that it would be easy to dismiss his criticisms of Jason Garrett as being more about Owens’ prickly personality than about Garrett’s coaching ability.

But the reality is, Owens has a point.

Owens is wondering why Jerry Jones hasn’t fired Garrett, and if Garrett doesn’t win big this year, Jones may not have a good answer.

Mueller played in all 10 games for Switzerland, where he finished with one goals and five assists for six points.

Devils forward Nico Hischier did not participate for Switzerland at the World Championships due to a left wrist and hand injury.

Switzerland made a surprise run to the final following a fourth-place finish in Group A during preliminary play. The Swiss beat Finland, the Group B winner, in the quarterfinals before beating Canada in the semifinals.

Canada played the United States in the bronze medal game after Team USA lost to Sweden, 6-0, in Saturday’s semifinals.

The United States rebounded behind a 24-save effort from Kinkaid, who finished the tournament with seven wins and two losses. He started nine of the United States’ 10 games.

Kinkaid was selected as one of Team USA’s top three players of the tournament, along with Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks and Cam Atkinson of the Columbus Blue Jackets. ravens_095
